The 2012 Dive and Travel Expo is finally here and it’s time to catch up with my fellow divers, drool over delicious gear, and fantasize about exotics destinations.

Oh, that gorgeous time of the year! We all so look forward to it. The chance to escape to the outdoors to enjoy the fresh air and bright, long days. Many take advantage of the season and take their training outdoors. There are many advantages to training outdoors and if it’s possible to fit it in your schedule, by all means you should incorporate it. This information can make all the difference if you are frustrated with the battle against the bulge.

In the previous installment, we came to grips with the sour reality of divers and fitness. With seeven out of ten divers being overweight or obese we are not, as a collective, role models of health and fitness.
So what? - You may think – How does this concern the diver who just wants to have a good time?

It never ceases to amaze me how time transitions in an unstoppable odyssey, irreverent of our desires. No matter how we would like to slow it down and prolong precious moments, it goes on undisturbed.
