Greetings,
Last February you sent us boxes of your magazines to pass out at the Upper Midwest Scuba and Adventure Travel Show. We passed out as many as possible. We have approximately one box of magazines that are still left over.
This weekend we are traveling to Milwaukee to the Ghost Ships Festival, which I am sure you are familiar with. We thought we could pass out the rest of them at our booth. Would this be OK with you folks? I just wanted to make sure we had permission to do so.
We returned the favor of placing an ad in your magazine for the UMSAT Show by placing a full page ad in our show program book, put your logo on the front page of our two websites and I mentioned you as a Sponsor in my opening presentation of the 2012 UMSAT Show and that we have free magazines placed all over the Hotel for the taking. Lots of advertising for you folks!
Thank you again for the Ad in your Magazine for our show. I hope we can do the same next year. Tonight was our kickoff (first meeting) to start planning for the 2013 UMSAT Show. We are now looking for speakers. If you know of a dynamic speaker that has one heck of a story to tell about shipwrecks or a great dive travel experience, please let me know.
Best regards,
Phil Kerber
GLSPS President

Dear Phil,
Thanks for sending this note and letting us know what happened at your event and to our magazines. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society and assist your organization in your mission to save and preserve the Great Lakes shipwrecks. Education is an important part of our mission which is help divers be more active in the sport locally. Supporting local events like yours is a big part of that and it is a great partnership. Thank you for handing out our magazines, giving us some recognition at your show and even advertising for us in your program – that is a lot of LOVE – we appreciate it! We are ready and willing to support you – anytime!
Thank you,
--Rick

Just found you guys on Facebook and liked your page. Love the magazine and all the dive information, especially the cold water diving sections.
I want to thank you for your support of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival held in Ann Arbor, Michigan last month. The GLSF went well again this year. The good news is we had approximately the same amount of attendees in 2012 as we had in 2011. We had 300+ ticket holders and about 100 exhibitors and workers/volunteers. The really good news is we had a number of “NEW” attendees.
Last February it was brought to the attention of shipwreck Salvors and metal-detecting enthusiasts that a Bill (SB-868) was pending in the Florida Senate that would adversely effect both professions. The only reason we learned about it was because Senator Hays of Florida was making amendments to it. By the time we found out, it had already been passed through the House and Senate and was now on Governor Rick Scott’s desk to be signed into law the following week and would go into effect July 1, 2012.
