They keep you warm as you play among the marine life. They allow you to see what happens when the ice has closed off the lakes. They allow you to partake in the sport you love so much all year long. But still, drysuits are perhaps the most misunderstood piece of dive equipment on the market today.
Recently it has become apparent to the staff here at Dive News that there are a lot of people missing out on year around diving because they believe that drysuits are difficult to use. While they do take a little extra training, they are actually really easy to use. Amanda, daughter of Rick Stratton, the publisher of Dive News, used one her first dive out...at 8 years old.
So in the interest of introducing all of our readers to the possibilities drysuits afford the average diver, we put together a sampling of what the market has to offer in terms of drysuits. This sampling is by no means all of what is out there so we encourage you to do some research of your own. We simply want to wet your whistle so to speak. So...divers meet the drysuit...we think you'll become really good friends....
